Mr. Conklin has lived on his family's farmstead near Tumalo since 1986. As Field Operations Manager, he provides field review of development activities, helps inform capital improvement project design, manages planning and implementation of district field maintenance and new infrastructure, and is responsible for managing field staff and making sure that water deliveries are met. Karl is a true jack of all trades.
Karl is a native Oregonian, has completed courses in business and computer science at OSU, and is a natural, self taught engineer. He has a background that includes 12 years as a business owner and 7 years in construction and construction management. He has irrigated his own 50 acre farm here in the District for decades. Karl works closely with the District's general manager to implement and enforce policy, protect and improve District field assets, and mitigate against short and long-range field-based liabilities.
