Board of Director Elections

We have a three member, At-Large Board (the Board). Each position comes with a three year term. Nomination Petition Form availability and timelines are publically announced per Oregon Revised Statute guidelines. There is no limit on how many terms a board member may serve. Being on the Board is a serious time commitment and werecommended that those interested in running for the Board attend several meetings to learn about the legal requirements, business operations, and affairs of the District.

2025 Election Status

10/8/2025 Update

2025 Election Petitions were due by 2:00 p.m. on October 8, 2025. Having only received one valid and legal petition, from Mr. Dennis Gant, Mr. Gant was therefore deemed reelected by operation of law to Position #1, Director at Large, Swalley Irrigation District, for a term commencing January 2026 and expiring December 2028. Secretary Camarata shall issue a Certificate of Sole Nominee to the Board of Directors on 10/9/2025.

11/17/2025 Update

Deschutes County Commissioners appointed Mr. Tom Andrade to fill a vacancy on Swalley's Board for Position #2, left vacant by the death of Director Don Reese. The Position #2 term runs through Dec 31st, 2026.
